It is with heavy hearts that we report the passing of our friend and former Museum Shop Buyer and Manager, Alice Dwyer Ross.

Alice passed away surrounded by her family on June 6 after a battle with cancer. Her memorial service was held on June 19 in Hopkinton, Massachusetts. She is survived by her children Gavin, William, Patrick, and Kathleen, along with nine grandchildren and many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, siblings, and friends.

We were so lucky to have Alice as part of our staff here at Victoria Mansion, a place she cherished. Her charm, humor, and impeccable taste will be remembered fondly. As Assistant Director Tim Brosnihan states, “Alice was a part of the Mansion for nearly 14 years. I watched the shop evolve under her care from a post-tour stop for small items and postcards to a major part of the museum’s operations and a destination in and of itself. She has left us quite a legacy. I’ll always smile when I think back on her irreverent sense of humor.”
