It is with mixed emotions that we announce the departure of two longtime members of the Victoria Mansion family.
A Very Fond Farewell to Two Valued Staff Members
Our Director of Education & Visitor Services, Lucinda Hannington has decided to step down from her position after 5 years to pursue long-neglected historical research and writing projects. As many know, Lucinda has expertly trained countless docents, led hundreds of student tours from preschool to college, and keeps current the house’s interpretation to the public. She has also successfully instituted a wide variety of educational programs and events, including the biennial, ever popular Victorian
Fair.
Coincidentally, Sam Heck, our Director of Development for over 7 years, has decided to redirect his many talents to aid those struggling with addiction at Milestone Recovery. During his tenure, membership numbers have quadrupled, the young donor group, the Gaslight League has been instituted, and truly significant strides in fundraising for the Mansion’s conservation and education programs have been made.
Although they will still be fixtures at some events throughout the holiday season, Lucinda and Sam will be greatly missed by our trustees, staff, members, volunteers, and broader Victoria Mansion community. We wish them the very best in their new endeavors.
