Christmas at Victoria Mansion
During the holiday season, many of our community’s leading and up-and-coming florists, designers, artists, and fellow non-profit organizations use the backdrop of the Mansion’s interior design to create unique decorations that emulate Victorian-era splendor. Now in its fourth decade, this annual event welcomes thousands of visitors each year from the end of November through the beginning of January.
2023 Season Theme: Colors of the Season
This year, our designers found inspiration in the Colors of the Season, as well as colors from within the Mansion itself! Our 2023 season ran from November 24, 2023 – January 7, 2024.
In addition to our decorated house tours, we were pleased to host the return of two favorite events: Night of the Nutcracker with Portland Ballet on Sundays, December 3rd and 10th, and Mr. Dickens and His Carol, performed by British actor Andrew Harris on Saturday, December 2nd in a special presentation for A Christmas Carol’s 180th anniversary. In place of our “Stories on the Staircase” series this year, we offered a brand new program for our youngest visitors, their stuffed animals, and their caregivers: a Ruffi Stuffie Sleepover!
Victoria Mansion is now closed for the season. We will re-open for our regular season on May 1, 2024. Our 2024 holiday season theme will be announced later in the year.

Stories on the Staircase
For our 2021 program of story times for preschool-aged visitors and their families, docents and friends of the Mansion read stories from our friends at Islandport Press, and in 2022, Islandport Press authors read excerpts from their own books for audiences of all ages. Both the 2021 and 2022 readings are now available on our YouTube page.
Thank you for reading along with us!
