Come join us as we celebrate our namesake’s 200th birthday!
While Her Royal Highness Victoria unfortunately never visited the Mansion, (or the United States for that matter), we’re honoring her special day with a Victorian-inspired celebration and tasting. Enjoy food provided by Blue Elephant Events & Catering, period-inspired libations, along with music and an opportunity to see what’s new at Victoria Mansion in recent months. Oh, AND a visit from ‘the Queen’ herself is expected!
Don’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime event.
Victoria Mansion, also known as the Morse-Libby House after its occupants, got its name upon its opening as a museum. As the Queen herself never visited, the stewards who saved the home from demolition in 1941 opened the then-vacant house with an impressive collection of Victorian furniture and memorabilia. In the following decades, the second occupants, the Libby family, and the Morse ancestors returned over ninety percent of the original 1860s furniture and furnishings.
